Owen C. McFadden, D.V.M.
Owner and hospital director
of Midlothian Animal Clinic, he has practiced
in the Midlothian area since 1978. Dr.
McFadden acquired Midlothian Animal Clinic
in 1982, and built the current facility in
1988. Born and raised in Baltimore,
Maryland, he graduated from the United States
Naval Academy in 1966, where he was an All-American
Lacrosse player. After leaving the Naval
Academy, he was a naval aviator for 5 years
flying P-3 sub hunters in the Atlantic and
the Mediterranean. In 1976, he graduated
from the University of Georgia and received
his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
Dr. McFadden’s professional goals
are to provide quality small animal medicine
and surgery, as well as superb client communication
and service.
Living in Powhatan, Virginia,
for the past 30 years with his wife Kim, Dr.
McFadden is a past senior warden and vestry
member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
He professionally belongs to the American
Veterinary Medical Association, Central Virginia
Veterinary Medical Association, is a member
and past officer of the Virginia Veterinary
Medical Association, Richmond Academy, Veterinary
Management Group and American Animal Hospital
Association. He enjoys golfing, traveling
and spending time with his two Jack Russells,
Paddy and Peggy Dunn.

Alison Rhoades, D.V.M.
An associate of Midlothian
Animal Clinic in Midlothian, Virginia, Dr.
Rhoades was born in Michigan, but grew up
in Northern Virginia with her parents, sister
and a house full of dogs. In 1993, she
graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa
from Hollins College with a B.A. in Biology
and a double minor in Chemistry and History.
Dr. Rhoades then attended VA/MD Regional
College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated
in 1997 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
(GO HOKIES!!) She practiced in a mixed animal
practice in North Carolina for a year before
moving to Midlothian Animal Clinic in 1998.
Dr. Rhoades lives with her
daughter, Madeline, and their beloved Labradors,
Bella and Cash. She enjoys playing soccer,
swimming, horseback riding, traveling and
baking in her spare time. Professionally,
she is a member of the American Veterinary
Medical Association, Central Virginia Veterinary
Medical Association, Virginia Veterinary Medical
Association, Richmond Academy and the American
Animal Hospital Association.

Timothy T. Withers, D.V.M
Dr. Withers is a native
of Richmond, Virginia and a 1996 graduate
of the University of Virginia. (Go Hoos!)
He graduated from VA/MD Regional College of
Veterinary Medicine in 2001 as a Doctor of
Veterinary Medicine. During his college years,
Dr. Withers, who is also an Eagle Scout, earned
numerous awards including being voted the
“Most Outstanding Senior Veterinary
Student” by his professors, as well
as receiving the “Kay Daugherty Spirit
Award” as voted by his classmates. After
graduation, Dr. Withers worked as an associate
veterinarian at a mixed animal practice in
Pennsylvania. It was there that he met
and married his wife, Angela. After 4 years
in Pennsylvania, he returned to Virginia and
Midlothian Animal Clinic in 2005.
Dr. Withers and Angela share
their home with Maya, their cat. In
addition to general veterinary medicine, he
has special interests in dentistry, surgery
and ultrasound. Professionally, he is
a member of American Veterinary Medical Association,
Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, Richmond
Academy and the American Animal Hospital Association.
In his spare time, Dr. Withers enjoys
cooking, gardening, fishing, golf, music and
singing.

Jay Friedrich, D.V.M

An associate of Midlothian
Animal Clinic since 1997, Dr. Freidrich grew
up in Fairfax County, Virginia, and graduated
from the College of William and Mary in 1978.
He received a Master of Science Degree
in Zoology (Physiology) from Miami University
in 1980. He then pursued a veterinary
career at Ohio State University and received
his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1984.
Dr. Freidrich then spent a years' internship
at New Haven Central Hospital for Veterinary
Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut, before
returning to his beloved Virginia in 1985.
He has practiced in the Richmond area
since his return.
Dr. Freidrich currently
lives in Richmond with his dog, Phoebe. He
enjoys playing racquetball and fly-fishing.
Professionally, he is a member of American
Veterinary Medical Association, Richmond Academy,
Virginia Veterinary Medical Association and
the American Animal Hospital Association.

“Dr. Becky”
Rose, D.V.M
“Dr. Becky”,
a Richmond native, graduated with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Biology and Environmental
Science from the University of Virginia in
1992. After completing prerequisites
for admission to veterinary school at Virginia
Commonwealth University, she attended VA/MD
Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr.
Becky received several awards including Outstanding
Fourth Year Student Award, The Pharmicia/Upjohn
Proficiency Award and the Richard B. Talbot
Memorial Award. She was also a member
of Phi Zeta Honor Society and the Phi Kappa
Phi Honor Society. After graduation,
Dr. Becky completed a small animal internship
with training in Oncology, Cardiology and
Ophthamology at North Carolina State University
Hospital, where she was voted Intern of the
Year. She has been in private practice
for 10 years in both North Carolina and Virginia.
She joined Midlothian Animal Clinic
in August of 2006. Professionally, she is
a member of the American Animal Hospital Association.
Dr. Becky lives with
her husband, 3 sons, a dog, Geni, and a cat,
Salem. During her spare time, she enjoys
reading, hiking and spending time with her
family.
