Dr. Withers is a native of Richmond, Virginia and a 1996 graduate of the University of Virginia. (Go Hoos!) He graduated from VA/MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. During his college years, Dr. Withers, who is also an Eagle Scout, earned numerous awards including being voted the “Most Outstanding Senior Veterinary Student” by his professors, as well as receiving the “Kay Daugherty Spirit Award” as voted by his classmates. After graduation, Dr. Withers worked as an associate veterinarian at a mixed animal practice in Pennsylvania. It was there that he met and married his wife, Angela. After 4 years in Pennsylvania, he returned to Virginia and Midlothian Animal Clinic in 2005.

Dr. Withers and Angela share their home with their son, Isaish and their cat, Maya. In addition to general veterinary medicine, he has special interests in dentistry, surgery and ultrasound. Professionally, he is a member of American Veterinary Medical Association, Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, Richmond Academy and the American Animal Hospital Association. In his spare time, Dr. Withers enjoys cooking, gardening, fishing, golf, music and singing.
